Full 2022 World Cup schedule & when England play group games
The 2022 FIFA World Cup is now tantalisingly close.
Friday’s group stage draw out in Doha has well and truly whet the appetite of football fans across the globe.
There are some seriously exciting games to look forward to in the tournament’s opening round, including Spain vs Germany, Portugal vs Uruguay, France vs Denmark, Brazil vs Serbia and Argentina vs Mexico.
England were drawn in a relatively easy group on paper, although Iran, USA and one of either Ukraine, Wales or Scotland will certainly not be underestimated by Gareth Southgate and his team.
One of the other intriguing ties will be the Netherlands’ meeting with Senegal in Group A and that match at the Al Thumama Stadium will now open the tournament on November 21st.
Now you’re probably thinking; don’t the host nation usually play in the curtain raiser at a World Cup? Yes, they usually do.
But this time around, Qatar’s meeting with Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium will be the tournament’s third official game at 7pm local time (4pm GMT) to ensure it’s in a primetime spot.
