The Bulls suffered a second consecutive Champions Cup loss when they went down 30-21 to English side Northampton Saints at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulls also lost 27-5 away to English outfit Saracens last weekend and they continued to struggle in Round 2.

The Saints ran in four tries to claim a bonus-point win.

The Bulls looked like they could stage a comeback when they overturned a 22-7 deficit in the final quarter to trail only 22-21, but Northampton closed the game out in style.

Flyhalf Fin Smith kicked a long-range penalty before winger Tommy Freeman went over for his second try of the afternoon, which also cost the Bulls a losing bonus point.

For the Bulls, flanker Marcell Coetzee and No 8 Cameron Hanekom (two) crossed the whitewash for tries.
