Frustrated fans slam organisers at Neighbourhood Festival after waiting three hours and missing their favourite band

Fans have slammed Neighbourhood Festival over reports people queued outside for hours on end and still didn't make it inside to see their favourite acts. Crowds descended on Manchester for the annual festival last weekend, which sees bands perform at 13 venues across the city.

Some ticket holders complained they had queued outside some venues for as long as three hours, only to be left disappointed when the venues hit 'maximum capacity' and stopped allowing people inside and instead started operating a one-in, one-out operation.

However the festival has reiterated that they anticipated high demand for certain acts and 'carefully planned set times' whilst also alerting ticket holders of the latest queue updates through their app and social media pages.

Organisers say they also had staff on hand warning people of how long they would need to wait and in some cases advising them that they would probably not get into the venues they were queueing for.

15-year-old Tania had travelled with a group of her friends from Southport to the festival last Saturday (October 1), excited to see their favourite band Lovejoy. Despite arriving two hours before their set, at 4pm, they found themselves stuck queuing up outside until after the band had finished performing.

Her mum Jeni said she had numerous texts from her daughter, telling her that the queue had stopped moving and that she was worried they wouldn't get inside to see the performance. The festival confirmed this on their social media, tweeting they were operating a 'one in, one out policy' at Canvas ahead of the set.
