"From what I'm told" - "Interesting" Rangers update now emerges from trusted journalist

Rangers are ‘getting quite far ahead’ with their summer transfer plans as manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst aims to bolster his first-team squad, according to journalist Dean Jones.

It’s been a mixed season so far for Rangers, with their run to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and semi-finals of the Scottish Cup providing hope that silverware could still be on the cards.

Experienced stars Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield are set to become free agents in a matter of months, while the Gers have the option to extend Leon Balogun’s stay by a further year.

Meanwhile, the contracts of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Ryan Jack and Filip Helander are all set to expire in the summer of 2023, meaning some big decisions will need to be made within the Rangers hierarchy.

Rangers have already secured their first summer signing after snapping up Hearts centre-back John Souttar on a pre-contract deal in January.
