Frank Liivak and Adam Keena with the goals as Sligo Rovers overcome Shelbourne

Sligo Rovers bagged the points when they ran out 2-0 winners in their Airtricity Premier Division clash against Shelbourne at Tolka Park.

Frank Liivak and Aidan Keena were on the scoresheet for the visitors as they claimed the three points.

Boyd went close almost immediately after the goal when John Ross Wilson found him in the box with a great cross, the forward pulled off an excellent diving header but just couldn’t keep it on target.

Brendan Clarke made a great save in the 52nd minute to deny Max Mata when Liivack found the forward in the box with a great through ball, the goalkeeper got fingertips to the shot to deny the visitors.

The visitors doubled their lead 15 minutes later when Aidan Keena intercepted a wayward Shelbourne pass, he raced on goal and with no defender to stop him he rattled the ball into the net.

Shels came close to getting a goal back first when Wilson fired off a shot on goal from the edge of the box in the 73rd minute with
