Frank Lampard secures new backroom signing as former Everton man returns

Jack Dowling has returned to Everton from Blackburn Rovers to take up a role on Frank Lampard’s coaching staff.

Dowling joined Everton in 2013 and worked his way through the ranks at the club before taking on the role of lead strength and conditioning coach for the club’s Academy side.

Writing on LinkedIn ahead of his Everton exit, he said: “My career in football started as a volunteer coach at the age of 16.

“During my time at university I gained a place on the Everton Sport Science Internship which led me into my role of Sports Scientist and then Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for the academy.

“I spent six seasons helping academy players with the physical side of the game and on their journey to the first team. I am now very excited to begin my new journey at Blackburn Rovers as the first team Athletic Performance Coach.

“A big thanks to all the staff at Everton for my experiences so far. See you in the future.”

Lampard was appointed Everton manager back in January, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Goodison Park club

Duncan Ferguson and Allan Kelly both continued at the club in their coaching positions, while Lampard opted to bring in four new faces with him.

Joe Edwards was named as assistant manager, while Paul Clement, Chris Jones and Ashley Cole all took up first-team coaching
