Frank Lampard identifies biggest danger Manchester United possess ahead of Everton clash
Everton boss Frank Lampard says he is aware how devastating Manchester United can be on the counter attack.
The Toffees manager identified that their attacking players carry a big threat but that he is confident his side can give the Reds a good game. United travel to Goodison Park for an unusual kick-off time of 7pm on Sunday.
They go into the match following Thursday’s 3-2 win over Europa League minnows Omonia after last weekend’s 6-3 defeat to Manchester City. Lampard vowed that Everton will try to find the frailties in the United side but will expect the “best version” of United to turn up.

He said: “I think you have to expect the best version of the team to come and then also try and find weaknesses if you can. I think it’s important that we focus on ourselves and keep doing the things that we do.
“The first feeling with Manchester United is always that there is a big threat on the counter attack, I think they’ve had that for many years, and the individuals at the attacking end of the pitch. We’re well aware of that but we’re confident in what we can do first.”
United suffered a 1-0 loss away at Everton in April which started a dismal run-in that saw them win just two of their final seven matches last season. Lampard acknowledged that this weekend's match would have a different feel this time around but praised the quality of the United squad.
“Make no bones about it, Manchester United are a fantastic team,” he added. “They’ve got really, really good individual players. One of the strongest squads in the league for sure.
“We’re aware of that but we also have confidence in ourselves and an understanding of what we can be like at Goodison
