Frank Lampard breaks bone in his hand celebrating dramatic Everton winner against Newcastle
Frank Lampard suffered a broken bone in his hand during the wild celebrations that followed Alex Iwobi’s dramatic late winner for Everton.
The Toffees claimed a huge three points in their battle against relegation after Iwobi scored in the ninth minute of stoppage time, during Thursday night’s clash with Newcastle at Goodison Park.
In the delirious scenes that followed, manager Lampard was left with a swollen hand.
“I don't know, I did it in the celebrations for the goal!” he confessed.
“I think I just connected with something somehow and I realised two minutes later my hand was shaking and going a bit achy - but I'll take it for the three points.”
Ouch!
