Frank Lampard and Everton hoping for double boost ahead of Wolves clash

Frank Lampard says he is hopeful that both Demarai Gray and Ben Godfrey will be able available for selection ahead of Everton's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Speaking to evertontv, Lampard stated: “Demarai (Gray) has been out for most of the time I’ve been here.

"“He hasn’t been well but he’s back in training now at Finch Farm and is hopefully available for the weekend.

“There’s been some issues and it will be good to get players back. Ben (Godfrey) should be fit for us also this week.

"Hopefully, we’ll have him training with us from Wednesday onwards.”

Gray, 25, has been limited to just 14 minutes of action across the last five fixtures for Everton after suffering a hip injury against Newcastle United.

Godfrey, 24, suffered a hamstring injury in Lampard's first game in charge in the 4-1 win against Brentford in the FA Cup and has been absent since.

Lampard will be hoping the return of the defender can secure a fairly lacklustre defence, after he witnessed his side ship five goals to Antonio Conte's Tottenham on Monday night.

Regardless of the selection boost, Bruno Lage will aim to address Wolves' current three game losing streak prior to Sunday's game, as they line-up to face a relegation battling Watford side on Thursday.
