Four Manchester United players who have stepped up for Erik ten Hag

In the summer, all the talk was about which new faces were needed to improve the Manchester United squad. When taking into account the horrific ending to last season, a wishlist for most supporters would have featured an entirely new starting XI.

The Reds were atrocious and did not start this campaign any better. Defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford left many fearing the worst for both Erik ten Hag and United. However, since victory over Liverpool, the Reds have seemingly turned a corner in the Premier League.

By no means has it been perfect but following what we all observed in the previous campaign, it is certainly more positive around Old Trafford. The upturn in form has been partially down to new signings however there are four United players who survived the horrors of last season and have now reinvigorated themselves under the Dutchman.

Here at MEN Sport, we have taken a look at the four players who we believe have stepped up for Ten Hag.

Dalot has managed to make the right-back position his own at the Theatre of Dreams this season. He has become dependable in what is now a strong back line for the Reds.

With Ten Hag unable to sign a right-back as cover to the Portuguese star, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has remained at the club. But his hopes of replacing Dalot look to be slim at best.

Should he continue this form, Ten Hag will not be inclined to look for a replacement in either January, or next summer for that matter.

Perhaps one of the most unlikely 'glow-ups' under Ten Hag has been Varane. The Frenchman struggled for game time last season as previous injury doubts reared their ugly heads once more.
