Four Euro 2024 stars linked with Man United transfer that they must avoid signing

European football fans are getting ready to glue themselves to their TVs as Euro 2024 kicked off in Germany this weekend.

The hosts romped to a 5-1 victory over Germany in Group A as competitive football returns after a two-week hiatus. However, it is not just supporters who will be keeping a close eye on proceedings this summer.

Manchester United are looking to make some big alterations to their squad after a disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League. The FA Cup victory over Manchester City, albeit impressive, should not paper over the cracks that are still in this squad.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will be eager to see how players perform at the European Championships ahead of making moves for them but there are four players who should probably be avoided. First on that list is Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

It is clear the England striker is eager to make a move to a top club in the Premier League and in truth this transfer window is likely to be his last chance to do that. At 28, his shelf life at the bigger clubs is trickling out.

The Bees reportedly want £60m to allow Toney to move and that is simply too much for a player that still has question marks over his ability. Another forward to avoid is the Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee at Bologna.

He will be heading to the European Championships and while he is younger than Toney, his goalscoring record is still questionable. Just 12 goals in 37 appearances leaves a lot to be desired and it is unclear whether he would be able to blossom in the Premier League.
