Forward Rodney Adamon-Eruotor remains on trial with Isthmian League Sheppey United

Sheppey United are continuing to monitor exciting frontman Rodney Adamon-Eruotor.

The former Bromley under-23 player has looked impressive for the Ites during their opening pre-season matches, scoring twice last week against Kennington and adding another in Saturday’s home friendly with Maidstone United.

Defender Lekan Majoyegbe and forward Nickal-David Luzolo joined last week and Sheppey could be ready to give Adamon-Eruotor an opportunity as well.

“It is a work in progress,” said Sheppey coach Marcel Nimani.

“He has settled in well. We have to bear in mind he has never played regular senior football before, so everyone is just taking their time. We have given him a chance, there is no pressure on him, so he can enjoy it.”

You don’t have to search hard to find clips of what the forward can do. His ‘wondergoal’ for Sunday League side Hatcham has had plenty of views on social media, skipping past a couple of defenders and leaving two more on their backs before firing home.

Nimani had previously seen what Adamon-Eruotor could do and was keen to get the youngster in for pre-season after he had caught the eye.

Sheppey are back in action at home this Saturday against Herne Bay, who were promoted to the Isthmian Premier last season. The Ites were due to play Larkfield & New Hythe last night (Tuesday).

Sheppey striker Jack Midson, meanwhile, made his return from injury at the weekend, playing 20 minutes against the Stones, who won 5-1.

“It was good to get Jack Midson back playing,” Nimani said.

“He came on and is class whenever he plays. He holds the ball up well, [is] technically gifted, his decision making is very good, he influences play and he showed his class.
