Formula 1: Red Bull reveal launch date for 2022 car

Red Bull Racing have announced the launch date for their 2022 challenger, with the RB18 set for unveiling on February 9th, placing it currently as the first car for the new Formula 1 season set to be revealed.

The new F1 season is drawing towards the horizon now, with testing getting underway at the end of this month in Barcelona and teams confirming the launch dates for their eagerly anticipated 2022 machines.

Indeed, new rules and regulations for the forthcoming campaign have generated a higher sense of intrigue around the new cars than there is most years, with eight of the ten teams now confirming their intended launch dates.

And, with Red Bull’s announcement on Thursday, they are currently set to be the first for the big reveal, with February 9th pencilled in.

The RB18 will be driven by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, with both drivers looking to build on a successful 2021 season.

Verstappen, of course, is our reigning world champion after taking the crown in hugely dramatic circumstances at the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Perez, meanwhile, finished fourth in the Drivers’ standings in 2021 having shown particularly good race pace on Sundays, and he’ll be eager to use his first season last year within the team as a springboard for 2022.
