Former West Brom player gives an update on his future after leaving the club

Welsh international Hal Robson-Kanu left West Brom last year where he had spent five years.

Upon West Brom’s relegation to the Championship last year and with his contract up, Robson-Kanu parted way with the club.

In his five years at West Brom, the striker scored 25 goals including a goal against Leeds in his last game for the club.

Since leaving the club, the 32-year-old hasn’t signed a contract with anyone else leaving him out of the game for almost a year now.

However, Robson-Kanu has found work down other routes as he owns a company called Tumeric Co and has also done some punditry work too.

As it stands the Welshman, who has 46 caps for his county, trains regularly to keep himself fit but is not actively looking for a club.

However, although it may look at though the striker’s time is football is up and he will now be choosing to focus on other ventures, the striker hasn’t ruled out playing again.

When asked if his time in football was up, Robson-Kanu told Football London: “I feel physically in the best condition of my life and I got fitter and stronger every year down to my nutrition and lifestyle.

“I’m not going to close the door and say it’s [a return to football] not going to happen.”

The Verdict:

It’s good to see Robson-Kanu is doing well for himself since dropping out of football, as you can sometimes see players feel quite lost after their time in football is up especially after being in the game for so many years.

The fact the player is still training regularly and feels he can’t rule out a return to football yet suggests he may feel there is some unfinished business for him in the game, but is waiting for the right offer to make him go back to his old life.
