Former NFL star Frank Gore set for pro boxing debut with Gamebred Promotions
Former NFL sensation Frank Gore is set to make his professional boxing debut next month for Gamebred Promotions.
Over the course of the last few years we’ve seen a variety of athletes make the crossover to different sports for the sake of testing themselves in a new way. Sometimes it goes well and other times it falls apart quite quickly but in the process, there tends to be a lot of entertained fans watching it all unfold.
Frank Gore, 38, is known for being one of the best running backs in the history of the NFL. His run in the league speaks for itself with his longevity, alongside his third place position in all-time rushing yards, serving as proof of the legacy he’s left behind.
He recently announced his intention to sign a one-day contract with the San Francisco 49ers before retiring from the sport for good.
The 49ers helped to showcase his abilities for nine years with Gore being one of the driving forces behind them reaching the Super Bowl.
Alas, while it’s upsetting to see him walk away from the game, when one door closes another one opens.
As per a report from MMA Junkie, Gore is stepping into the squared circle for his pro boxing debut on May 14 under Gamebred Promotions – the company that is owned and operated by UFC star Jorge Masvidal.

As of this writing, it’s not yet known who his opponent is going to be.
This might be the first pro fight for Gore but it certainly isn’t his first taste of throwing down in the boxing ring.
