Forget Raphinha: Marsch wants ‘talented’ attacker to stay at Leeds

Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Leeds United will be ‘desperate’ to keep Jack Harrison at the club this summer, amid reports linking him with a move away from Elland Road.

Leeds defeated the odds on the final day of the Premier League season, climbing out of the bottom three to secure their place at the top table of English football – which could make it easier for them to hold onto their stars.

One man they could face a fight to keep is Harrison. The Telegraph is reporting that Newcastle United still want to sign the winger, even though Leeds stayed up at the end of the season.

As reported by GiveMeSport, O’Rourke has had the following to say on the matter: “For me, I think he’s a talented winger and I’m sure Leeds will be desperate to keep hold of him. So, unless it’s big, big money, I would imagine Leeds will be looking to keep hold of Jack Harrison for next season.”

TIF Thoughts on Pete O’Rourke’s comments…

Harrison has certainly been a key player to Leeds this season, whether that be for Jesse Marsch or previous manager Marcelo Bielsa. He played a total of 38 games in all competitions, missing just three league fixtures.

He bagged 10 goals during the campaign for the Whites, including two assists for his teammates. He was also on the scoresheet in the final-day 2-1 win at Brentford which secured Premier League football for next term, so Marsch and supporters alike will surely want to see him stay next season.
