Forget Lloris: £78k-p/w Tottenham dud with 75% duels lost let Conte down badly - opinion

Antonio Conte was left frustrated as Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanders in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs found themselves 2-0 down at the break as goals from Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker had the away side flying at half-time.

Captain Hugo Lloris left a lot to be desired from his performance as he appeared to be beaten far too easily for both of the goals. He may look back on those and believe he should have kept them out, which could have given Spurs a better chance of winning the game without Wolves having a healthy lead to enjoy.

Whilst the Frenchman may be disappointed with his showing, another player who let Antonio Conte down badly against the Midlands outfit was Dejan Kulusevski.

The Sweden international was brought in the first half for Ryan Sessegnon and struggled to make a positive impact on the game as he was caught out by the physicality of the match.

Off the ball, he was a lightweight. As per SofaScore, he lost a whopping 75% of his duels, as he was beaten in six of his eight individual battles. He won zero tackles and made zero blocks, interceptions or clearances. This shows that he found the strength of the Wolves players difficult to handle, as he lost the majority of his clashes, including both of his aerial duels.

On the ball, the £78k-per-week winger did not make up for his defensive woes. As per SofaScore, he completed 20 passes and gave the ball away 16 times, whilst creating one chance and 50% of his attempted dribbles. This shows that he was unable to bring the attacking quality to make up for his lax defending, which meant that it was a poor showing all-around from the Juventus loanee.

Therefore, Conte will be feeling let down by the man he opted to bring on in the
