Forget Kyogo & Turnbull: Celtic's "mouth-watering prospect" can fire Ange to the title - opinion

Celtic find themselves back in familiar territory this season as they look to secure the SPFL title after losing out by quite a significant margin last time around.

With 30 league games played, Ange Postecoglou’s side have won 23 of them, drawing four and losing three.

The Hoops also boast the best attacking and defensive record in the league with 65 goals scored and 18 conceded.

Prior to the season kicking off, the Parkhead club were rather busy in the transfer market by bringing in a number of new players and moving some out in the other direction.

Having arrived on loan from Portuguese club Benfica, 22-year-old winger Jota has gone on to make 31 appearances for the Parkhead side across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing nine assists along the way.

In 21 league appearances, the attacker has delivered seven goals and six assists with an average of 2.6 shots, two key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game, which is higher than most of his teammates in each statistic.

As well as his impressive attacking attributes, the loan star has also been getting involved in the defensive side of things with 1.4 tackles per game which is higher than the likes of Carl Starfelt, Nir Bitton and David Turnbull among others.

Labelled as a “mouth-watering prospect” by pundit Noel Whelan, Jota has ultimately earned himself an overall performance rating of 7.51, making him the third-highest rated player currently in Celtic’s squad according to WhoScored, highlighting how important he has been for the club since his arrival.
