Football Manager 2023: Five hardest challenges to try

Football Manager 2023 is set to release later this year, despite the game not yet being announced.

The new game from Sports Interactive has not yet been officially announced but the franchise has followed an annual release schedule throughout its lifespan.

We are almost certain to get a new edition of Football Manager before 2022 is out; FM22 has sold over one million copies.

As a result, we’ve taken a close look at five of the hardest challenges you could take on in the game.

Nottingham Forest

Just promoted to the Premier League, Forest look to have a very long shot of survival. They were promoted surprisingly, having spent time in the relegation zone last season, and it’s questionable whether they have the squad needed to survive.

Can you keep them up in the short-term and guide them to glory down the line?

Gillingham

They were relegated from League One last season and have since released a host of players. Eleven players have left and 10 have come in.

That’s a huge amount of churn in the squad; can you help the club out of League Two and guide them up the leagues to the top-flight?

It’s a hefty ask!

Derby County

They were one of the biggest challenges in FM22 and this has absolutely not changed.

They don’t have any money and there are reports that they could face another points deduction ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

They also have just five first-team players under contract. Can you get them back into the Premier League?

Kelty Hearts

Do you fancy managing in Scotland?

Kelty Hearts have recently been promoted from Scottish League Two into League One, having won the former last season.

Now, here’s the fun bit: Kelty only became a fully professional senior side in 2017.

Can you take them into the Scottish Premiership
