Footage shows moment woman is 'dragged out by her hair' after going into DJ booth at Popworld nightclub

This is the moment a woman was allegedly dragged out of a DJ booth by her hair at a nightclub in Manchester city centre.

Video footage shows a commotion between the female reveller and a man inside the booth at Popworld on Whitworth Street in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 13).

In the short clip, the woman can be seen shouting into a microphone before being pulled away by a man.

One clubber, who took the video, said she saw the man grab hold of the woman by her waist and try and drag her out of the booth.

He then grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her away, the reveller, who asked to remain anonymous, claims.

The identity of the man and the woman in the footage have not been confirmed.

Speaking to the M.E.N, the woman who filmed the incident said she noticed something unfolding on the dance floor at around 1am.

"There was a group of girls standing in front of the DJ booth on the dance floor and one of the girls was crying," she said.

"Her friend was saying something to a man.

"The girl who was talking to him then got into the DJ booth and was talking on the microphone.

"She said something along the lines of: 'just because she says no doesn't mean you can do it anyway.'

"Then he literally ran back over and the scuffle happened."

The woman claims she saw the man attempting to take the microphone from the female's hand before grabbing hold of her waist.

"He then grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her out that way," she added.

"I think she was a bit in shock that he had done that. She never raised a hand to him at all."
