Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley looks ahead to facing Cray Wanderers in Isthmian Premier and coming up against Neil Smith
Folkestone boss Neil Cugley is looking forward to coming up against Cray Wanderers’ management team tonight.
After a 10-day break, Invicta will welcome the Wands to Cheriton Road for the Isthmian Premier fixture.
Both teams were without weekend fixtures, with all football fixtures postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, although Neil Smith’s Cray Wanderers were beaten 4-0 at home by league rivals Bognor last Wednesday in their FA Cup replay.
But Cugley is expecting a tough test against the seventh-placed team.
He said: “We know a bit about them, we have had good reports on them.
“I know they lost to Bognor in their FA Cup replay but, apart from that, they have had a good start. I know Neil Smith and Tim O’Shea [his assistant] well. I’m looking forward to seeing them and I’m sure they will do well. It’ll be a tough game.”
Ex-Gillingham midfielder Smith, formerly manager of Bromley, took charge of Cray in March, signing a two-year deal to stay with the club in a full-time role two months later.
