Flytippers dump 200 tonnes of waste in fields
This is the astonishing sight which met cops when they swooped on fields off a dirt track. Flytippers had dumped 200 tonnes of waste.
But a tip off to police meant they seized a large HGV which was in the centre of the rubbish, and loaded with another 35 tonnes of waste. The driver voluntarily attended a local police station under caution.
The discovery by Cheshire's Rural Crime team, who had been working with the Environment Agency was flytipping on an industrial scale on land between Macclesfield and Congleton.

"That’s why our team works with the likes of the Environment Agency to tackle the issue. Criminals are very much mistaken if they think it isn’t an issue we take seriously – our team is always committed to finding those responsible and in doing so making Cheshire a no go area for criminals who are not only a blight on our countryside, but a danger to our environment.
