Flu-hit Musiala in doubt for Bayern’s trip to Gladbach

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has flu and is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Borussia Moenchengladbach, the Bavarian side announced on Thursday.

Musiala, 21, “needs to take a break and will not take part in team training” on Thursday, Bayern said in a statement.

The Germany midfielder also missed Bayern’s 6-0 home friendly win over Red Bull Salzburg on Monday.

After a three-week break, Bayern resume their Bundesliga campaign with a four-point lead over defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Musiala, who is in negotiations to extend his 2026-expiring deal at Bayern, has 14 goals and six assists in 22 games in all competitions this season.
