After winning one of the most important fights of his career, Floyd Mayweather only had one thing on his mind – going to McDonald’s.

Mayweather is undoubtedly one of the best boxers in the world, with the 45-year-old boasting an immaculate 50-0 professional boxing record.

But while the American-born fighter is praised for his impressive defence and counter-attacking boxing, perhaps his success actually stems from his post-fight trips to McDonald’s.

Back in September 2013, Mayweather faced Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a fight billed “The One.”

The pair faced off in front of a sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with Mayweather coming out on top in a majority decision.

‘Money’ put on a brilliant display, with the official scorecards criticised after the event for not accurately showing Mayweather’s dominance. Out of 86 media scorecards at the event, all 86 handed the victory to Mayweather after his superb defensive showing.

As a result of his victory, Mayweather received a handy $41.5 million for the fight. His usual post-fight celebrations and parties rack up a hefty bill, but his celebrations in 2013 barely scraped $20.

After defeating the Mexican, Mayweather left the arena and headed for McDonald’s, clearly excited to end the strict diet he followed during his training camp.

The then-36-year-old was interviewed along the way as he kicked back, put on some music and cruised to the fast food restaurant.

What was his order? No less than six sausage and egg McMuffins, eight hash browns and three large orange juices – a meal fit for the light middleweight champion.
