'Five or six players shouldn't play for Manchester United again' - Roy Keane slams 'shameful' display

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has claimed "five or six players" should never play for the club again after the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez saw Pep Guardiola's side cruise to a routine victory on Sunday afternoon. Jadon Sancho had scored in the first half to pull United level but City were good value for the victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Keane said: "It is hard when you are out there and you are up against a really good team. We see some of the goals and you have got to run back and you have got to tackle.

" United players have shown quality over the years but we have just seen a reflection of where the team is and where the club is. They are just so far behind the other teams. Whatever is going on in the dressing room, and we hear noises all the time, but your own bit of pride eventually has to kick in at some point.

"There were some players there as we were watching it live and I am looking at them and I am getting really frustrated watching them. I can forgive mistakes but you have got to run back, there are five or six players there who should never play for Manchester United again.

"It is shameful, shameful that you cannot run back and you can't put your body on the line. Forgive the lack of quality against Manchester City in the second half as Manchester City were excellent, but Man United. Derby match today, the subs coming on, they did not have an impact.

"They were not prepared to run around, a couple of lads in midfield, [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka, Fred, [Harry] Maguire, [Marcus] Rashford - I could go on.

"Give them four goals
