Five injured after brawl breaks out at music festival at Barton Aerodrome

Five people were injured after a fight broke out at a music festival at Barton Aerodrome on Saturday night (July 15).

It is understood weapons were used in the fight, near one of the events' stages, at around 8pm, that followed on from an attempted robbery by a group of men. Barton Aerodrome listed the Mvson World festival as the event on Saturday.

Five people were left with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The men involved are believed to have left shortly after via the main entry route to the event, heading onto Liverpool Road and turning left.

Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation into the incident and 'pursuing multiple lines of enquiry' as they appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Kellie Lawson, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “We are currently pursuing multiple lines of enquiry and are building a comprehensive timeline of events. This was a shocking incident at an event in which people were there to enjoy themselves – and we are doing what we can to find those responsible.

“I would ask anyone who saw anything last night to please get in touch with us. I would also ask anyone nearby who may have dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage, to contact us."
