As we enter day three of SEC Media Days, the discussion continues to center around issues that are only tangentially related to what will happen on the field in 2026.

Everyone seems to be so preoccupied with whether the SEC will secede from college football that they forget we have an actual season to play in less than a month and a half.

Fear not, SEC fans. I'm here to talk some actual football with you all, and on today's dockett, I'll be keying in on five freshmen who will have the biggest impact on the field this fall.

Year in and year out, SEC teams recruit some of the best high school football prospects in the world, and 2026 was no different.

Plenty of blue-chip freshmen will see the field this coming year, but here are five first-year players you really need to keep an eye on.

I realize it may seem like I'm not going out on a limb picking the highest rated cornerback in the class of 2026 to make an impact early, and you're right.

But this isn't supposed to be a vehicle for hot takes, and former five-star Brandon Arrington is the real deal, so it's only natural that he finds himself on this list.
