"Fits the profile" - Journalist backs Leeds move for "devastating" £34m-rated striker

Chelsea striker Armando Broja “fits the bill” for Leeds United, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Since the start of the year, the 20-year-old has attracted plenty of interest, including from the Elland Road outfit.

According to GOAL, West Ham, Newcastle United, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Napoli are all targeting Broja following his successful loan spell at Southampton.

The same outlet states that he could be sold for £25m, though manager Thomas Tuchel will take a look at him in pre-season first.

Back in January, TEAMtalk had claimed that Leeds wanted the Albania international, who has a CIES Football Observatory value of £34m, so perhaps they could also join the race to sign him this summer.

During his loan spell at St Mary’s, Broja made 38 appearances, scoring nine goals across those games.

O’Rourke thinks Broja would be a great addition to Leeds’ squad, though he fears he may be a bit too expensive for the Yorkshire club.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “He fits the profile. He’s young, he’s a goalscorer and he can lead the line on his own playing up front.

“I think he would definitely be somebody who could prove to be a good signing for Leeds United if they were to get him, but he might cost a bit of money. So financially, it might be a hard deal to do, but Armando Broja has all the attributes to be a success at a number of clubs.”

While Broja’s record this season suggests he needs to improve his finishing, which is understandable given his age, he can be pleased with his movement and how he attacks spaces.
