Finn Balor reveals plans for scrapped faction with former WWE tag team

Finn Balor may now be firmly part of The Judgement Day, but he’s revealed there were once plans for a faction with a former WWE tag team.

Balor has already been part of some memorable stables during his career, having been a founding member of the iconic Bullet Club faction and now part of Raw’s Judgement Day group. 

However, speaking to Inside the Ropes, the first-ever Universal Champion revealed he once pitched an idea to create a faction with the Authors of Pain before the eventual WWE release. 

I think when I had discussed it before, I had pitched the idea of going with the AOP. But I feel like now looking back, it might have been too similar to Bullet Club. And like I feel like when you try to like recreate something, it’s never as good as, you know, the original.

And I feel like this Judgement Day is something like so far removed from Bullet Club that it’s very refreshing for me, especially. And they’re not having to kind of try and recreate like what I’ve done, like years and years ago. So, like I’m more creatively fulfilled now than I have been in a long time in WWE and yeah, feels good. Just kind of going out there and expressing yourself a little bit more freely as a heel? You know, the reins are off a little bit out there. Yeah, I’m just enjoying it again.”

Finn’s Judgement Day played a massive part in Saturday night’s Clash at the Castle, as Balor and Damian Priest teamed to face WWE legends Edge and Rey Mysterio. And although the two stable members lost the match, they literally had the last laugh as they watched on as Dominic Mysterio turned on his father and his Hall of Fame tag team partner. 

It was then revealed on Raw last night that Dominic has joined Finn as the newest member of The Judgement Day
