Final Fantasy 16: Fans Hoping for Announcement at State of Play
Playstation will be holding a State of Play on Wednesday 9th March 2022, and players are hoping that there will be further news on Final Fantasy 16 at the online event.
It has been some time since we’ve heard anything major regarding the upcoming Square Enix title, and this could be Sony’s opportunity to showcase the anticipated release in the massively popular franchise.
Whilst it is not confirmed that the game will be discussed during the live stream, it is certainly getting a ton of attention from JPRG fans online.

The official PlayStation Twitter account sent out the following with regards to the latest State of Play: “State of Play returns this Wednesday, March 9. Tune in at 2 PM PT for about 20 minutes of PS4 & PS5 first looks and updates, with a special focus on games coming from our Japan publishers.”
The mention of Japanese publishers specifically has gamers on the social media platform bringing up Square Enix and Final Fantasy 16 specifically.
One player tweeted: “It’s going to [be] about Japanese publishers hmm not much else. I want to see more of Final Fantasy 16 and give it a spring 2023 date.”
One gamer online was more analytical in their approach to the upcoming State of Play, saying that they don’t believe Sony will have anything major to reveal.
