FIFA have opted not to ban Russia's football team from international competition, but the football governing body has announced a number of restrictions to take effect.
The announcement comes after a number of statements from national football federations, with the English FA announcing England teams would not play matches against Russia "for the forseeable future".
Sweden, Poland and the Czech Republic, all of whom were drawn in Russia's section for the World Cup qualifying play-offs, had earlier said they would not play against Russia in the light of the invasion of Ukraine.
“No international competition shall be played on territory of Russia, with “home” matches being played on neutral territory and without spectators," the statement reads.
"The member association representing Russia shall participate in any competition under the name “Football Union of Russia”."
"First and foremost, FIFA would like to reiterate its condemnation of the use of force by Russia in its invasion of Ukraine," the governing body said in its statement.
"Violence is never a solution and FIFA expresses its deepest solidarity to all people affected by what is happening in Ukraine.
