FIFA 23: #SaveProClubs trends as fans are outraged with no cross-play
#SaveProClubs has been trending on Twitter today, following EA’s recent announcement that the popular game mode wouldn’t be receiving cross-play, yet pretty much every other online mode in FIFA 23 has.
The Pro Clubs community are demanding answers from EA, following confirmation that the game mode won’t have cross-play functionality in FIFA 23. The trailer for the upcoming title was released yesterday at 5 pm and showcased many of the new features in the game. They showcased some of the new gameplay elements, such as revamped free-kicks and set pieces, the new HyperMotion2 technology, and much more – but the juicy information came in EA’s cross-play notes that told fans about how cross-play will work in the upcoming title.
The notes confirmed that cross-play would only feature in certain 1v1 game modes, including FUT Division Rivals (except Co-Op), FUT Champions, FUT Ultimate Online Draft, FUT Online Friendlies (except Co-Op), FUT Play a Friend, Online Friendlies, Online Seasons (except Co-Op Seasons) and the Virtual Bundesliga competitive game mode.
This has sparked mass outrage from the Pro Clubs community, given the fact that cross-play would most greatly benefit this mode in FIFA. Fans are also massively concerned that EA are neglecting Pro Clubs as a mode compared to others, which has sparked a #SaveProClubs trend on Twitter. More on this below.
