FIFA 22 leak: Game set to be available for free on PS Plus

FIFA 22 could be available for free next month for players on PlayStation if a new leak is to be believed.

Per Eurogamer, a new leak from Dealabs claims that the EA Sports football franchise will be offered up as part of the May PlayStation Plus line-up.

Per the report, Dealabs has continually predicted the line-up correctly, doing so over a number of months.

Now, they claim that FIFA 22 will headline next month’s downloads, which can be claimed for free for subscribers to the online portion of the PlayStation offering, be it on PS4 or PS5.

Sony has never before offered any version of FIFA as a downloadable game on PlayStation Plus.

The game is set to arrive on May 5th, should it follow the usual release schedule, and it will be joined by two other games.

Indie game Curse of the Dead Gods is also set to be offered, a game that was released in 2020 and is a roguelike action game. It has a Metacritic score of 79% on PS4.

In addition to FIFA 22 and Curse of the Dead Gods, Dealabs reports that the third game will be the co-op survival game Tribes of Midgard.

Tribes of Midgard offers players the chance to resist an invasion of Ragnarok by a number of enemy giants, and it has a Metacritic score of 71.

By comparison, FIFA 22 has a Metacritic score of 78.

It remains one of the biggest video game launches of the year and continues to be one of the highest-selling games of both 2022 and 2021.

That is usual for EA Sports’ gaming behemoth, and now even more players are likely to have the opportunity to lace up their virtual boots and have a kickabout.

The current games on offer on PS Plus are Slay The Spire, Hood: Outlaws and Legends, and Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated.
