FIA report concludes 'human error' led to controversial Abu Dhabi GP finish in 2021
The long-awaited report into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and its finish has been revealed by the FIA, with Formula 1′s governing body concluding that ‘human error’ led to Max Verstappen’s title win at the expense of Lewis Hamilton, and that Michael Masi ‘acted in good faith.
The 2021 title race ended in very controversial circumstances as Verstappen took the championship on the final lap from Hamilton, following on from an unprecedented call from then-race director Michael Masi to only let certain cars unlap themselves before we went racing again.
In the aftermath, the FIA revealed they were investigating and they have now unveiled their findings
