Ferran Torres Bizarrely Wears Barcelona Shirt Without Crest Or Nike Logo During 1-1 Draw With Napoli

Torres struck the equaliser in the Europa League round of 32 clash at the Nou Camp, converting a penalty after fellow Adama Traore won a penalty.

But the Spaniard's shirt and its lack of emblems became a massive talking point on social media.

Torres had a normal shirt in the first half like the rest of his teammates but then, for reasons still unclear, he had a predominantly blank jersey for the second half.

He had the Rakuten shirt sponsor and his name and number on the back, but there was no badge or swoosh. And it caused reaction aplenty online:

To make the whole thing even more bizarre, it's emerged that Torres did not even notice his plain shirt until the end of the game and nobody from Barca picked up on it.

Torres scored his second goal for the Blaugrana in the knockout clash but was guilty of spurning a couple of golden chances.

The former Manchester City and Valencia forward was visibly emotional with his head in his hands.

He wiped his eyes with his shirt and was consoled by a teammate at the end of the game.

But manager Xavi Hernandez issued a message of support to the young forward and trusts that the January signing will do the business.

"The Barca shirt weighs a few kilos more," Xavi said.

"But I am delighted to have him in the team and he will give me a lot of joy.

"If he is in the penalty area it is because he will score. He has scored goals all his life and he will have them.

"In training he is one of those who scores the most. He has our absolute trust. The coaching staff and I will take care of this. He is very strong, self-demanding."
