Faversham Town and Faversham Strike Force extend groundshare agreement at Salters Lane for another two seasons

Faversham Town and Faversham Strike Force have agreed to extend their groundshare at Salters Lane.

The news comes with Strike Force on the brink of securing a Southern Counties East Division 1 play-off place and just days after the Lilywhites were relegated out of the Isthmian League.

The new terms of the agreement will cover both the 2023/24 and 24/25 campaigns while Town hope to install a new 3G pitch at Salters Lane this summer.

“It's been a seamless process, working with Strike Force this season,” said Lilywhites chairman Gary Smart.

“We had no doubt we would like to keep the partnership going for the foreseeable future.”

Faversham Strike Force manager Gary Axford said: “Everyone at Faversham Strike Force FC is extremely excited about the groundshare renewal.

“Our first season at the Aquatherm Stadium has been fantastic. Strike Force have enjoyed a good season, currently sitting fifth and in play-off contention.

“Having local supporters and a great atmosphere - both outside, cheering from the stands, and inside at the SOS Sports Bar - has helped massively. Gary Smart and all the [Town] board have been brilliant in all aspects.

“The relations between the two clubs is stronger than ever and will continue to improve.”

Smart added: “Gary Axford, along with Stuart Benfield [assistant manager] and Lee Suter [club development officer], have been so helpful and supportive in working together.

“They have all been involved and helping in our quest for the 3G pitch installation.”

Both clubs could yet play in the Southern Counties East Premier Division next term - if Strike Force, who previously had been groundsharing with Rochester United, are promoted.
