Fannon posts another FINA 'A' time at Irish Open
Tom Fannon registered a consideration time for this summer's World Championships in the men’s 50 metres freestyle heats at the Irish Open at the National Aquatic Centre this morning.
Fannon, who until recently swam for Britain, recorded a time of 22.11 seconds in the final heat session ahead of the finals. It’s the second time this week that Fannon has dropped under a FINA 'A' consideration time with seven Irish swimmers doing so in total for the Fukuoka meet. Mona McSharry is the fastest qualifier into the women’s 200m backstroke decider.
The Tennessee-based swimmer is looking for the treble of 50m, 100m and 200m Open titles.
Danielle Hill is the quickest qualifier into the final of the women’s 50m backstroke
The finals, on day five of the meet, are off the blocks at 5pm.
