Fan fury as rescheduled Chelsea and West Ham kick-off still to be confirmed

Supporters from Chelsea and West Ham have called for the clubs to quickly decided on the time that their clash on Saturday will kick-off. 

Chelsea were set to host West Ham United this Sunday (4 September), however, it was announced that the game would be rescheduled for Saturday (3 September). 

The rescheduled game still has has no kick-off time, causing anger and frustration amongst both sets of supporters.

A joint statement released by the Chelsea and West Ham United Supporters Trust was released earlier on Monday, stating that for supporters to not know the kick-off time five days in advance is deeply unacceptable. 

It is believed that the game was rescheduled as Chelsea play again on Tuesday, 6 September, in the UEFA Champions League. 

The statement read: "The Chelsea Supporters Trust and Supporters Trust and The West Ham United Supporters Trust are appalled, yet not surprised, at the predictable farce surrounding the scheduling for the fixture this weekend. 

"It was totally unacceptable for the fixture date to be altered with only a week's notice, however, the broadcasting companies and the Premier League have still not confirmed the kick-off time – this is a disgrace. 

"All parties have been aware since the fixtures were announced in June that this game may have been moved due to UEFA clashes. It is unacceptable that a comprehensive contingency plan was not created in advance to avoid the existing situation. The lack of planning and foresight has had an awful effect on supporters. 

"Tickets have been bought, accommodation has been booked, travel has been paid for, and plans have been confirmed. For supporters to not know the kick-off time five days in advance is deeply unacceptable.
