Fabio Aurelio makes Luis Diaz claim after £50m Liverpool transfer
When Fabio Aurelio steps back onto the Anfield turf on Saturday, he will be rekindling a love affair with the club that so often grabs players once they have been privileged enough to wear the famous red jersey.
Now 42, the Brazilian left-back will take part in this weekend's LFC Legends charity match against a team of former stars from FC Barcelona.
Aurelio enjoyed a six year spell on Merseyside, making 134 appearances and finding the net four times - including a famous free-kick in a 4-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford - but as all of those goals were scored away from home, how he would dearly like to smash one in at the Kop on on Saturday.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, he said: "It would really be a dream come true if I could score at Anfield because during my time at the club, the four goals I did score were playing away. If I get to do it with a free-kick, I couldn’t ask for more. Anyway, I’m very pleased to have the chance to play at Anfield again, I will sure enjoy it and also try to fulfil this dream of mine. Why not?"
