FA Cup live TV games: Cray Valley v Charlton Athletic and Horsham v Barnsley First-Round replays picked for television coverage

Cray Valley’s FA Cup replay against Charlton Athletic has been selected for live TV.

The teams will meet at the Millers’ Artic Stadium on Wednesday, November 15 (7.45pm), live on BBC2.

The Millers threatened one of the biggest upsets in FA Cup history in Sunday’s first meeting at the Valley, which was also televised.

Viewers saw Steve McKimm’s Isthmian South East side - who sit 117 places below League 1 Charlton - come from a goal down to draw 1-1 in one of the stories of the First Round.

“I’m not going to kid anybody, we didn’t play Charlton’s first team,” said proud boss McKimm.

“But we played a team that are full of professionals, who train every day and have got the fitness, nutrition and everything that comes with being a professional footballer - and my boys were superb.”

Addicks boss Michael Appleton saw his gamble in making 11 changes backfire as a Lucas Ness own goal cancelled out Scott Fraser’s early opener.

Appleton felt he picked a strong enough team to win, praising the efforts of their non-league opponents.

“They were top-drawer,” said Appleton of Cray Valley.

“They thoroughly deserve their second crack at it and I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to hosting us. They did great.”

The other tie picked for TV coverage is Horsham’s replay against Barnsley. The sides drew 3-3 at Oakwell on Friday, with the replay scheduled for Tuesday November 14 (7.30pm), live on ITV4.
