F1: Red Bull switch focus to 2023 as they close on Constructors' crown

Rob Marshall, Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer, has revealed that the team is now fully focusing on their 2023 Formula 1 car.

It’s been a fine year for the team from Milton Keynes with them taking the Drivers’ title for the second straight season last time out at the Japanese Grand Prix, and they are on the verge of doubling up by taking a first Constructors’ crown since 2013 at the US Grand Prix next time out in Austin.

A clean sweep of championships is always something to be proud of in F1 and Red Bull have indeed been the team to beat this season, with them having a quick car, talented drivers and a real ability to produce consistent performances and make the right calls at the right time more often than not.

A good campaign for them, then, but F1 does not care for resting on your laurels and nor does it care for past glories, meaning the focus is already on 2023 and going again, with Red Bull's Marshall telling the F1 Nation podcast that, whilst some minimal updates may come between now and the end of the year to the RB18, full focus is on developing things for next season.

"All focus is now fully on 2023," he said.

"There are still some very minimal things to come, but there will be no major updates between now and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix."

The last time Red Bull were Constructors' champions Sebastian Vettel was their world Drivers' champion, Lewis Hamilton only had one world title and Max Verstappen was 15 and an upcoming star in karting.

The Bulls will hope, after securing it in the final four races this year, the wait for the next one won't be as long.
