F1 leader Antonelli leads the pack in Miami, takes his third pole in a row
MIAMI: Formula One championship leader Kimi Antonelli sped to his third successive pole position on Saturday with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen joining the Mercedes youngster on the front row.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc qualified third fastest, with McLaren’s reigning world champion Lando Norris set to line up fourth on what could be a stormy Sunday.
Antonelli, 19, is chasing his third win in a row after triumphs in China and Japan.
Earlier on Saturday, Norris won the Miami sprint race in a McLaren one-two with Oscar Piastri on Saturday as Mercedes suffered their first defeat of the season.
Leclerc finished third for Ferrari with Mercedes pair Kimi Antonelli and George Russell fourth and fifth respectively.
Antonelli stretched his championship lead over Russell to 10 points.
