Ex-Man City striker Gabriel Jesus shows support for Vinicius Jnr with celebration vs Brentford

Gabriel Jesus has become the latest high-profile player to throw his support behind Vinicius Junior.

The former Manchester City star netted his fourth Premier League goal of the season for Arsenal in Sunday afternoon's win at Brentford.

And after finding the net in the first half the forward pulled out a dance move similar to the one used by his Brazil teammate Vinicius Junior. It comes after the Real Madrid star was targeted with a racist slur by agent Pedro Bravo, who said during a TV discussion that "in Spain, you have to respect rivals and stop playing the monkey".

The comment was made in relation to a goal celebration by the Madrid attacker.

Bravo subsequently apologised on social media. Vinicius Junior, 22, responded by saying: "Accept it, respect it. In any case, I will not stop! Weeks ago, some people started to criticise my dancing. But the dancing is not mine alone. They belong to Ronaldinho, Neymar, [Lucas] Paqueta, [Antoine] Griezmann, Joao Felix, Matheus Cunha... Brazilian funk singers and samba dancers, Latin reggaeton singers, Black Americans. They are dances to celebrate the cultural diversity of the world.

"They say that happiness bothers. The happiness of a black Brazilian being successful in Europe bothers much more. But my will to win, my smile and the sparkle in my eyes are much bigger than that."

Jesus' show of support follows in the footsteps of Manchester United winger Antony, who posted a message to his compatriot on Instagram.
