Ex-escort sells everything she owns to look after mistreated cats

An ex-escort has sold her last valued possession to look after mistreated cats - and is worried she will have to stop caring for them.

Cat English - not her real name - has had to sell her last possession, a necklace she had, as a keepsake in order to fund her passion for helping and rehoming cats in need, Lancs Live reports. Now, she may have to give the whole thing up due to a lack of funding.

She already looks after 46 cats in her home and said she is still getting told about cats that need her help every day. She runs the Facebook page 'English Barn Cats' where she updates her followers on the cats that need help and pleads of donations in order to purchase food, vet bills and a place for them to stay.

Cat said: "There's a crisis on our streets with cats not being neutered, it's a real struggle in the area and I have to be the one to pick up the pieces. People need to be more responsible and there needs to be more education on the importance of neutering, even for boys.

"I've sold everything I have, even down to my last necklace and now I'm relying on public donations. You just sit in the vets and pay on your card hoping the donations will come in. The other day I was sat in the vets and someone came in with a bag of kittens and two of them had died. You just hope that everything will sort itself out and there will be a happy ending.

"I'm very lucky because my boyfriend provides the roof over our head and let's me live out my passion, but I don't know how long I can do this for. I'm getting people reaching out to me daily about different cats all over the place, I'm even trying to care for one in Rhodes as a good deed."
