Ex-Eagles star Paul Okoku supports primary education with generous donation

Former Super Eagles star Paul Okoku has extended a hand of generosity to the pupils of St. Paul’s Primary School, Costain, Lagos, by donating brand-new school uniforms and writing materials through his charitable organisation, the Greater Tomorrow Children Foundation.

The donation ceremony, held on Tuesday at the school premises, was attended by Tijani Tajudeen, Executive Secretary of the Lagos Mainland Education Authority Board, along with excited parents and delighted students. Tajudeen handed out the items on Okoku’s behalf, praising the ex-international for his unwavering support for children in the Lagos Mainland area.

“It gladdens my heart to witness and present these uniforms to our children,” Tajudeen said. “It is particularly touching that a former pupil of this school, Paul Okoku, has provided these items. He has always been at the forefront of supporting St. Paul’s Primary School, and today’s gesture is another testament to his humanitarian spirit.”

The event also featured the presence of other former football stars, including Taiwo Oloyede, Edema Benson, and Wasiu Ipaye, who lauded Okoku’s philanthropy during a period of significant economic hardship.

“Paul Okoku has demonstrated true leadership and selflessness,” Ipaye said. “This act of love towards these children is remarkable, and I pray that God continues to uplift him in all his endeavors.”

Benson added, “Paul Okoku is a gift to this generation. He consistently supports causes that promote the welfare of children, and we are blessed to have someone like him in our society.”

The pupils, brimming with excitement, expressed their gratitude for the much-needed uniforms and supplies. Many noted that the donation would make their return to school next term smoother
