EWC Inside Line with Mike di Meglio

Part of the F.C.C. TSR Honda France line-up that won the FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams in 2022, Mike di Meglio, 35, is revving up to defend the crown in 2023 alongside team-mates Josh Hook and Alan Techer. This is what the French rider has had to say.

You’ll be racing with the #1 on your Honda this season, how important is that?“It’s very important for Honda, for HRC, for Honda France and for me. When I came to this team they had won the title before but, for me, it was the first time with them. Last year was quite a complicated season for us but the team has worked a lot this winter and I think we will be more competitive this season, the feeling is good and we can be confident we can keep the #1 for next season.”Where does that confidence come from?“Last year we had many issues with the exhaust and if you take out this, we could have won many races because we lost a lot of time with this problem.

For this season we bring back TSR exhausts, also the team has worked on the new steering arms, they did some testing in Japan with Takumi Takahashi and already the lap time was better than in the past so it’s looking good with the improvements the team has made on the bike. I am looking forward to the Le Mans test to see what our level is.”How special would it be to successfully defend the world title?“I am 35 years old now so I am starting to be close to the end of my career and I want to do a good end of my career and win many things with Honda. I want to give many titles to Honda and my team.
