Everton vs Newcastle: Protestor tied himself to a goal post and stopped play
At the start of the second half between Everton and Newcastle United on Thursday evening, a protestor entered the pitch and disrupted the play.
The person in question ziptied themself to one of the goal posts and had to be freed by security with a pair of bolt cutters.
It truly was extraordinary scenes at Goodison Park and something we don’t think we’ve ever seen happen in a Premier League match to date.
The game was delayed for around eight minutes and when the protestor – who had “just stop oil” written on their orange shirt – was eventually cut free, it took a number of people to actually get them off of the pitch.
