Everton vs Man City LIVE early team news, goal and score updates from Premier League clash

Manchester City can re-open a six-point gap over Liverpool in the Premier League as they face Everton at Goodison Park.

With Liverpool moving to within three points of City this week after the Blues lost to Tottenham last time out, Pep Guardiola will be looking for a response today with Liverpool not in Premier League action this weekend.

Guardiola said City have been training well this week, and he was boosted by the return of Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus from injury. Zack Steffen and Cole Palmer both appear out of action still, while Aleks Zinchenko is ready to play if needed. Guardiola says City will show the Ukrainian international all the support he needs given the invasion of his country this week.

If City can get back to winning ways, they will extend the gap over Liverpool, who face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Tottenham may have been a dangerous opponent for City in such poor form but Everton should have Guardiola and his players picking their lips.

Not only are the Merseysiders low on confidence and quality but their determination to play out from the back when they’re not great at it makes them perfect opposition for City’s ferocious press.

Whether it is Foden or Jesus furthest forward today, expect a lot of targeting of Everton defenders on the ball.
