Everton step up quest to strengthen key Lampard area by making contact to take Harry Winks from Tottenham
Everton have established contact as they pursue the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, according to a report.
Winks could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer after their signings of Rodrigo Bentancur in January and Yves Bissouma in June. Already falling down the pecking order, the academy graduate has less of a place in Antonio Conte’s plans.
Last season, Winks started just nine Premier League matches. Therefore, the time may have come for the 26-year-old to finally find the second club of his career.
In that regard, links with Everton have emerged in recent weeks. They already took one midfielder from Spurs in January when they welcomed Dele Alli to Goodison Park. Now, they are taking steps towards laying the carpet out for Winks to follow.
