Everton: Lampard now 'happy' to sell £100k-a-week star at Goodison Park

Everton are happy for Dele Alli to leave the club this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 37-cap England international signed from Tottenham in January hoping to get his career back on track, but he has started just one game for the Toffees.

Following a miserable few years in north London, the 26-year-old made the move to Everton looking to rediscover the type of form that made him one of the most exciting youngsters in English football.

But Alli, who earns £100,000 per-week, has had almost no impact at Goodison Park, with his only start coming just four days after the Toffees had secured their Premier League status against Crystal Palace.

Alli’s introduction in the 3-2 win over Palace did spark Everton into life, but he has failed to score or assist in his 11 games for Frank Lampard’s side.

As a result, TEAMtalk reported that the Merseysiders were prepared to offload the midfielder before they’re due to start paying Spurs. According to the Telegraph, Everton were set to pay around £10m once he made 20 appearances, which won’t happen unless he stays beyond the summer.

And Jones believes that Everton are open to the ex-MK Dons ace finding a new club ahead of next season.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “They’ve got a fight to get rid of some players they don’t want around the place anymore. The Dele Alli gamble has not paid off at all.

“They’re happy for him find a new club. Dele needs to rediscover himself and find a place that he can start playing well again.

“It might be he has to go abroad at this point, because I’m not sure it’s in the Premier League that he finds his feet again.”
